How are motorized shades powered?
Two ways, and we'll recommend the right one for your home. Rechargeable battery motors install anywhere with no wiring — ideal for most homes — and a charge lasts months. Where there's an outlet nearby, hardwired motors run maintenance-free. Solar charging is also available.
What can control them?
A handheld remote, our smartphone app, automatic schedules, and voice assistants — Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home. For the most reliable smart setup, we pair a standard motor with a smart hub that connects to whichever system your home already uses.
Which shades can be motorized?
All of them. Every style we make — roller, solar, zebra, cellular, Shangri-La, vertical sheer, Roman, and outdoor shades — can be motorized. A single motor can even run several shades together, so a whole room of windows moves at once.
How much does motorization add?
Motorization is an add-on that varies by the motor you choose, and it typically adds a modest amount per shade. We'll give you an exact figure during your free consultation.
What's the warranty on the motor?
Up to 5 years — motors and smart controllers for 5 years, corded mechanisms for 3 years, cordless systems for 2 years.
